Bachelor of Art to Master of Art in Criminology and Criminal Justice Fast Track
About This Program
Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice to Master of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice Fast Track will enable outstanding senior undergraduate Criminology and Criminal Justice students to satisfy degree requirements leading to a master's degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice while completing their undergraduate studies.
Undergraduate Criminology and Criminal Justice students will apply when they are within 30 hours of completing their bachelor’s degree.
They must have completed at least 30 hours at UTA, achieving a GPA of at least 3.3 in those courses, have an have earned a GPA of 3.3 or better in all Criminology or Criminal Justice courses taken at UTA. Additionally, they must have completed 12 hours of specified undergraduate fast track screening courses at UTA with a minimum GPA of 3.3. If one of these four courses is transferred from another school it will not be included, and an equivalent course determined by the undergraduate advisor will be used as a fast track foundation course.
Students who successfully complete the fast track program will receive automatic admission to the graduate program in Criminology and Criminal Justice once the BA is awarded. No additional application or letters of recommendation are required.

Admissions Criteria
For admission to the fast-track program undergraduates must:
- be within 30 hours of graduation
- have completed 30 hours at UTA
- Have earned a GPA of 3.3 or better overall and of 3.3 or better in Criminology and Criminal Justice
- have completed the following courses with GPA of at least 3.0: CRCJ 2335, CRCJ 3340, CRCJ 3350, CRCJ 3300
For automatic admission to the Criminology and Criminal Justice graduate program, students must obtain a 3.0 or better in all graduate courses taken during the fast-track program

Advising Resources
First-time college students majoring in CRCJ will be advised by the University Advising and Engagement Center (UAEC) Freshman Advising team. After meeting the transition requirements, UAEC CRCJ majors will move to CRCJ advising. Transfer students should contact CRCJ program advising upon admission. All students should reach out to their advisors each semester for hold removal and degree plan updates.
