Certificate in Hospitality Management
About This Program
The Certificate in Hospitality Management provides students with skill and training in hotel, restaurant, and tourism management. Skills learned will include service leadership, and guest essentials, business operations, communications, sales & marketing, and revenue enhancement. The certificate enhances a student's general education, academic major and/or career preparation in hospitality management. This certificate is designed for current UT Arlington students and can be earned as part of a degree program at the undergraduate level or as a non-degree seeking,a stand-alone certificate.
Competencies
- Upon completion studies will demonstrate understanding of the hospitality industry.
- Upon completion students will students will gain practical knowledge in hospitality management.
- Upon completion students will demonstrate competencies in service and guest essentials.
Admissions Criteria
Undergraduate students in good standing (meeting a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0) at UT Arlington may pursue the certificate.
Non-degree seeking (certificate only) students must have gained admission to UT Arlington as a non-degree/non-enrolled student.
Curriculum
All students will take one of two courses that will present the fundamentals of hospitality. Two additional courses will be taken, based on the students' interests, drawn from a list of approved courses.

Program Completion
To receive the certificate, all courses must be completed at UT Arlington with a grade of B or higher.
