About This Program
The Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington is designed for students or professionals seeking to enhance their abilities to design, analyze, and manage complex systems. This program provides a strong foundation in systems thinking, requirements engineering, systems engineering modeling, system architecture, and lifecycle management, equipping students with the tools to address technical and organizational challenges in modern environments.
Competencies
- Upon graduation, students will be able to apply systems engineering processes, analyze and manage requirements, and develop system architectures.
- Upon completion, students will be able to perform trade studies and risk analysis.
- Upon completion, students will be able to perform system engineering modeling.
Admissions Criteria
An undergraduate degree in a STEM field with a 3.0 GPA or 2 years of work experience as a systems engineer.
Advising Resources
New M.S. Students will attend a departmental orientation and receive advising for first-semester courses. Fast-Track M.S. Students must talk to an M.S. program advisor when enrolling at the beginning of each semester. New Ph.D. students will receive email communications from the Ph.D. program advisor on course requirements, course waivers, diagnostic exam, and other policies as appropriate. Students are welcome to contact program advisors via email with any questions.
