Course presents an overview of current issues, trends, and practice in the care, treatment, and delivery of social services to diverse older adults and their families. Students learn practice procedures designed to equip them with the skills needed for effective social work practice, review major theories on aging, as well as evaluate needs and gaps in services to diverse older adults and their families. Particular attention is given to the intersections of older adults with gender, race, sexuality, age, education level, and other aspects of identity. Co-requisite: 5311.
