The course provides an exploration of the fundamental principles of mental health within the context of social work practice. Students will learn about the biological, psychological and social factors that influence mental well-being, and will develop an understanding of how the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is used in social work practice. Prerequisites: BSW Major.
