HIST 3310. COLONIAL NORTH AMERICA. 3 Hours.

Surveys the diverse worlds of colonial North America by centering the rise of the British colonies within a continent shaped by Indigenous power, rival empires, and shifting borderlands. Students examine how migration, diplomacy, warfare, labor systems, the expansion of slavery, and social and cultural change drove geopolitical struggles across contested frontiers and shaped daily life in the colonies. The course reveals how these colonial dynamics forged the pressures that eventually drove the continent toward revolution.
