Distribution, description, classification, plate-tectonic setting and origins of igneous and metamorphic rocks in the light of theoretical-experimental multicomponent phase equilibria studies; use of trace elements and radiogenic and stable isotopes as tracers in rock genesis; hand specimen and microscopic examinations of the major igneous-metamorphic rock types in the laboratory.
