The rise of the "petite bourgeoisie,"; social utopias, the rebuilding of Paris, and responses to modernity will be studied in such courses as "Paris and Its Subcultures," Impressionism and the Bourgeoisie," "The Novel and the Body." May be repeated for credit when topic changes.
