Attention will be given to major theorists, such as St. Augustine, Geoffrey of Vinsauf, Robert of Basevorn, Christine de Pizan, Desiderius Erasmus, Baldesar Castiglione, Juan Luis Vives, Sir Philip Sidney, Peter Ramus and Francis Bacon.
