Geometric optics, blackbody radiation, radiometry, photon detection mechanisms, thermal detection mechanisms, noise in optical detectors, figures of merit for detectors, photovoltaic detectors, photoconductive detectors, bolometers, pyroelectric detectors, and quantum well detectors.
