This course examines the global history of architecture from the earliest human settlements through the mid-18th century, tracing how urban forms emerged and evolved alongside architectural traditions across regions. The course considers major buildings, urban developments, and landscapes, highlighting the social, political, technological, and religious forces influencing their creation.
