ARCH 3322. TECTONICS II: FORCES. 3 Hours.
This course provides foundational knowledge of structural forces critical to understanding and designing architectural assemblies. Students are introduced to key concepts such as loads, moments, and equilibrium, with an emphasis on their application to structural building systems. By analyzing how materials and components behave under tension, compression, bending, and buckling, students develop the skills necessary to assess and design effective load-bearing structures in architecture. Prerequisite: "C" or better in ARCH 2321 and ARCH 2504. Restricted to declared Architecture majors. Minimum 2.8 GPAs both cumulative and within the major required. Corequisite: ARCH 3325 and ARCH 3505.
