Bachelor of Art in Art HIstory
About This Program
The Bachelor of Arts in Art History program emphasizes historical research, preparing students for graduate work in art history or museum studies. It is intended to provide a strong academic preparation for scholarly research and further study at the graduate level.
Competencies
- Upon graduation, students will be able to demonstrate scholarly and ethical competence in the formulation of clearly articulated arguments with accurately cited sources
- Upon graduation, students will be able to recognize that works of art embody a diversity of human experiences including ethnicity, race, gender, and disability, as well as political, economic, and cultural factors over time and across the globe.
- Upon graduation, students will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the continuous improvement of their work and their engagement with related activities and fellow student majors over the course of their time at UT-Arlington.
Curriculum
In the Bachelor of Arts in Art History degree program, a minor is required of at least 18 credit hours and may be in studio art. Other suggested fields for the minor are history, literature, anthropology, psychology, philosophy, and modern languages.
