The Bachelor of Music in Audio Production is designed for musicians wanting to pursue a career in audio production. Students take classes in Digital Music Technology, three semesters of Recording Techniques, Business of Music, and Introduction to Musical Acoustics. Students can also take Sound and Post-Production, Theater Sound Design, and Music in Film, among others. Critical listening, audio recording techniques, combining MIDI and audio, editing, and multitracking are just a few of the skills students learn at UTA. In our recording studio, Studio 301, and Irons Recital Hall, students learn how to record diverse genres of music, including classical music, jazz, and pop/rock. This degree's curriculum design supports our philosophy that the best audio engineers combine the ears of a musician with the technical capabilities of an engineer.

The objective of Bachelor of Music in Composition is to prepare the Composition major for graduate school or freelance composing. 

The Bachelor of Music with EC-12 Teaching Certification (Band Emphasis) is intended for students planning to teach music in school-based settings. Students at the University of Texas at Arlington who seek teacher certification can pursue one of three tracks: All-Level Choral, All-Level Instrumental (Orchestra), or All-Level Instrumental (Band). Students who opt for certification take courses that prepare them to teach early childhood, elementary, junior high, and high school levels.

The Bachelor of Music with EC-12 Teaching Certification Coral Emphasis is intended for students planning to teach music in school-based settings. Students at the University of Texas at Arlington who seek teacher certification can pursue one of three tracks: All-Level Choral, All-Level Instrumental (Orchestra), or All-Level Instrumental (Band). Students who opt for certification take courses that prepare them to teach early childhood, elementary, junior high, and high school levels.

The Bachelor of Music Performance in Band Performance is designed to prepare students for a career in performance and/or a graduate degree in performance. This may include a career as a band or orchestra musician, recitalist, chamber musician, or studio/commercial musician.

The objective of the Bachelor of Music Performance in Voice Performance is to give the student the basic knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career as a professional singer in opera, oratorio and on the concert stage. Since the career path for most classical vocalists includes multiple music degrees, the objective also includes preparing the student for admission into graduate study.

The Bachelor of Music Performance Jazz Studies option is offered to students interested in pursuing careers involving contemporary music. Students pursuing this degree may desire to teach, perform, or compose either independently or at the collegiate level; others may enter the music industry in areas that rely more directly on the creative or performance aspects of this idiom.

The Bachelor of Music Performance in Keyboard Performance is designed to prepare the piano student for a performing career and/or a graduate degree in performance. The degree program is designed to prepare the student for a professional career as a soloist, competitor, chamber musician, symphony musician, accompanist, collaborator, studio/commercial musician, coach, or teacher.  An audition or permission of the instructor is required for all large ensembles. All University students, regardless of major, are permitted to audition for and participate in all music department ensembles: concert bands, marching band, jazz ensembles, choirs, and orchestra. This program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

The objective of the Bachelor of Music Performance in Keyboard Pedagogy is to prepare the piano performance student for a career with an emphasis on teaching and/or a graduate degree in piano pedagogy. This degree option is designed to prepare the student for a teaching career with some performance aspects including solo performance, chamber musician, accompanist, among others.  An audition or permission of the instructor is required for all large ensembles. All University students, regardless of major, are permitted to audition for and participate in all music department ensembles: concert bands, marching band, jazz ensembles, choirs, and orchestra. This program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

Interdisciplinary in nature, the Bachelor of Music in Music Business at UTA offers students courses both from the Music Department and from the College of Business. The program is designed to prepare musicians to work in management, public relations, entertainment law, representation, publishing, marketing, accounting, and other areas of the music industry. The Bachelor of Music Performance in Orchestra Performance is designed to prepare students for a career in performance and/or a graduate degree in performance through intensive study in applied instruction, literature/pedagogy, and ensemble participation. This may include a career as an orchestral musician, recitalist, chamber musician, or studio/commercial musician.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music (Music Industry Studies) degree is a liberal arts degree for musicians seeking a broad education in music, music production, and the music business. The program combines musicianship courses, recording technology, and business courses with various electives for students interested in pursuing career paths in the music industry that include music producer, audio engineer, film composer, sound designer, A&R representative, music marketing specialist, live event producer, and other music business careers. The program also focuses on entrepreneurship and developing emerging artists and music producers for the commercial music market.
