Minor in Dance
About This Program
Any undergraduate student may elect to minor in dance. The Minor in Dance offers a variety of dance technique and theory courses to develop a well-rounded artist/scholar. Students have some flexibility in designing their coursework with the ability to choose from a variety of DNCE elective courses towards the Dance Minor.
Competencies
- The ability to analyze dance as a reflection of culture and map for performance.
- An understanding of the various production and artistic roles needed to present a dance production and dance as it relates to theatre.

Students interested in the Minor in Dance should consult with a Theatre Arts Department academic advisor to enroll in the appropriate courses.

Our advisor is here to help you at all stages of your academic journey. Scheduling an appointment can help current students update their degree plan, assess their academic standing, and plan their educational and career goals. Students should ensure prior to their appointments that they have submitted all transcripts for review. Theatre Arts & Dance students are required to schedule an appointment to receive clearance into their courses each semester. Prospective students with less than 30 college credit hours will need to contact the Division of Student Success. All students, regardless of credits, must be a UTA student with a student ID number to declare a Theatre Arts & Dance degree.
