Minor in Broadcasting
About This Program
The Minor in Broadcasting prepares students for jobs with an audio or video component. This program provides students with a strong foundation in both the technical and creative aspects of broadcasting. Students develop skills for creating audio and video content, using broadcast equipment, and understanding the legal and ethical standards of broadcasting. Students gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment and learn how to create compelling audio-video content.
Competencies
- Upon completion of this minor, students will have competency in discussing the role and function of broadcasting in society.
- Upon completion of this minor, students will have competency in recording professional-quality audio and video and creating projects using industry-standard editing tools.
- Upon completion of this minor, students will have competency in creating electronic media content.
- Upon completion of this minor, students will have competency in collaborating with others to produce audio-video content.
Admissions Criteria
All degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible to complete a minor in Broadcasting. Interested students please consult an Academic Advisor in the Department of Communication.
Curriculum
12 hours of any courses across the Department of Communication in consultation with the Academic Advisor | 12 | |
