Minor in Photography
About This Program
The Minor in Photography prepares an art or non-art major to develop proficiency in photographic image making and printing. The program is fine art based and the tools that are learned are applicable to a range of practices.
Competencies
- Upon graduation, students will be able to articulate and explain with proficiency the concepts and ideas present in their artwork.
- Upon graduation, students will be able to skillfully operate a variety of small, medium, and large-format film cameras along with DSLRs and other digital cameras.
- Upon graduation, students will be able to demonstrate proficiency in a variety of studio lighting techniques and the use natural and available light in different real-world lighting situations.
- Upon graduation, students will be able to skillfully produce printed photographs using traditional analog processes (film and other light-sensitive materials and chemistry) and digital processes including large-format digital printers.
