Minor in Architecture History
About This Program
For undergraduate students in architecture, interior design, or allied disciplines, the School of Architecture offers a Minor in Architecture History.
Competencies
- Historical and Cultural Literacy in the Built Environment: Upon completion, students will demonstrate an understanding of architectural and urban forms across time, exploring how design reflects and shapes cultural, political, and societal values.
- Critical Frameworks in Architectural History: Upon completion, students will apply historical, theoretical, and contextual analysis to understand the evolution of architecture, from ancient cities to contemporary movements.
- Integrated Perspectives on Architecture and Society: Upon completion, students will be able to connect architectural history to broader fields, such as politics, art, and urbanism, enhancing their ability to think critically about the built environment’s role in shaping human experience.
