An advanced course in translation with a focus on healthcare translation. Particular attention will be paid to healthcare terminology in English and Spanish, text types, and cultural elements. Students deepen their knowledge of translation theory and are trained to build and consolidate their skills in specialized translation. May be taken concurrently with SPAN 4341. SPAN 4342 cannot be applied toward the B.A. in Spanish for Global Competence. To take as an elective, non-Spanish majors should contact the instructor. Prerequisite: SPAN 3340 with a grade of C or better.
