Time and frequency domain analyses of linear time invariant systems. Discrete-time convolution. Stability analysis of causal and non-causal systems using the Z-transform and Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). Sampling and reconstruction. Finite Impulse Response (FIR) and infinite impulse response (IIR) digital filter design. Discrete Fourier transform and fast Fourier transform algorithm. Discrete time random processes and spectrum estimation. The use of a practical DSP algorithm implementation running on an embedded microcontroller and FPGA. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in both EE 2441 and EE 3316 or EE 3417.
