Interdisciplinary Leadership Minor and Certificate
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies offers one undergraduate interdisciplinary minor (18 hours) and one interdisciplinary certificate (15 hours) in Leadership. The Interdisciplinary Leadership Minor (ILM) program is ideal for those seeking to address diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues and enact social change through leadership. The courses are designed to increase students’ competencies for individual and collective social reflection, analysis, skill development, and action.
Regardless of a student’s academic major, this minor seeks to engage career readiness strategies to prepare students for relational, ethical, and global leadership across multiple disciplines, workplaces, and communities.
The 18-hour interdisciplinary leadership minor is open to all degree-seeking students. The 15-hour interdisciplinary leadership certificate is available to degree students enrolled at UTA and requires one less elective course. Students seeking the certificate can choose 2 courses from 2 of the 3 elective areas listed below.
